As a senior consultant at GHV, Maty works with the Women’s Health Team across the FP, MNCH and PHC portfolios, with a focus on Africa.

With 25+ years of experience in the public and private sectors, Maty brings deep expertise in policy advocacy, resource mobilization, strategic partnerships, and multilateral diplomacy. She is committed to building multi-sectoral collaborations and strengthening grassroots and citizen-led accountability mechanisms to drive national policy change. She has developed an extensive network across diverse constituencies in Africa, particularly in Francophone West and Central Africa.

Before joining GHV, Maty led the Civil Society and Youth Engagement portfolio at the Global Financing Facility (GFF). Working with the World Bank, governments, parliamentarians, and donors, she played a key role in institutionalizing citizen and youth engagement in national policy processes and establishing community-led accountability mechanisms. Through her board representation at Gavi and the GFF Investors Group, she has influenced global health financing and policy, ensuring civil society and community voices were integrated into key decision-making forums.

A native of Senegal, Maty speaks French and Wolof fluently and has a working knowledge of German. She holds an MSc in international health from Humboldt University – Charité Medical School and a BS in Computer Information Systems from Monroe College.

Maty currently resides in Switzerland with her family. Outside of work, she enjoys mentoring young African leaders and manages her children’s busy sports schedules.
