As a senior associate at GHV, Lydia supports research and management needs across teams, helping partners conceptualize, execute, and report on projects. She has supported teams at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the United Nations Foundation, UNICEF, and WHO, among others.
Lydia has more than 8 years of expertise in public health and computational social science, as well as technical writing and communications. She specializes in participatory modeling and human-centered design to foster interdisciplinary innovation and collaboration through shared visioning.
Previously, Lydia served as a researcher at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center, where she was a core team member on projects awarded through the US Department of Defense Minerva Research Initiative and the US Centers for Disease Control. Her work has been published in journals, blogs, and newspapers, including Frontiers in Public Health, The Washington Post, and The Conversation.
Lydia is finishing her PhD in international studies. She holds a graduate certificate in modeling and simulation, an MPH, and a BS. She has worked throughout the Americas, East-Central Africa, and Southwest Asia. She currently resides in Virginia, USA. She speaks English, Spanish, and Italian, and is learning Portuguese. She has two dogs and loves to spend time outdoors.
