Meet Mehreen Shahid, one of our senior advisors here at GHV. With more than 15 years of experience in public health, education, and social impact, she’s worked on everything from cholera control to maternal and child health. Mehreen also founded Safe Delivery Safe Mother (SDSM), an incredible organization that provides essential maternal and reproductive healthcare services, along with disaster management response for underserved communities in Pakistan.
In 2023, Mehreen was honored with the Development Leadership Award for her work in maternal health and flood relief in Pakistan—just one of many impressive accomplishments in her career. She’s also advised governments around the world on how to strengthen health systems and improve social outcomes. Having worked with organizations including the Clinton Foundation, the World Bank, and McKinsey & Company, she brings global insights to all her projects.
When asked what she loves about working with GHV, Mehreen shared, “I cherish the team spirit, support and camaraderie we have at GHV and hope to cultivate this bond further”
Outside of work, Mehreen loves running, traveling, playing cricket, and reading Urdu poetry.
