Anna Abelson

Meet Anna Abelson, an engagement manager on the Gender Equality Team at GHV. Anna’s work focuses on supporting the Women’s Economic Empowerment team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she specializes in strategy, data, and evidence. Her approach always centers women as the experts of their own lives, ensuring they’re at the heart of every project.

With nearly 15 years of experience in areas like women’s rights, reproductive justice, and health equity, Anna’s work spans both research and strategy. Prior to GHV, she consulted for Rabin Martin and held roles at both Columbia and Johns Hopkins Universities, where she worked on public health programs in Zambia and Cameroon. And she’s been published in peer-reviewed journals and TIME Magazine.

When asked what she loves about working at GHV, Anna says, "I love working with driven creative people who ask big questions while also doing the work to facilitate real change.”

Outside of work, you’ll likely find her exploring the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens or cheering on her favorite women’s basketball team, the New York Liberty.
