Meet Senior Consultant Anjali Desai. At GHV, we believe that driving meaningful change in global health requires collaboration across sectors, deep community engagement, and strategies that bridge policy and action. Few people embody this more than Anjali, a senior consultant whose career has spanned public health policy, advocacy, and multi-sector partnerships.
At GHV, Anjali has supported partners such as the Gates Foundation with policy, advocacy, and communications related to pandemic preparedness and response. She brings expertise in complex project design and management, helping organizations develop strategies that accelerate impact in global health.
With 15 years of experience, Anjali has worked with community-based organizations, governments, multilateral agencies, the private sector, and philanthropies and research institutions. Before joining GHV, she was a director at Panorama Strategy, where she supported various clients by advocating for inclusive programming and grant making; strengthening partnerships across sectors; developing strategies to meaningfully inform investments for impact; and facilitating conversations to learn, align, and drive progress. She also served as a program officer with the Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator, working to increase civil society participation in PEPFAR’s policies and programming.
Anjali’s expertise extends to pharma partnerships as well. During the 2018–2019 Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Anjali worked with pharmaceutical partners and global health organizations to improve communications and stakeholder engagement around an investigational Ebola vaccine. She has since supported pharma partners through the transition of an outbreak vaccine from investigational use to licensure, ensuring that key stakeholders were engaged at every stage. She has also helped pharma companies understand the policy and stakeholder landscape around dengue, including the intersections of climate change, travel, and disease burden.
With Indian heritage, a Zambian upbringing, and lived experience in the US and UK, Anjali brings a global perspective to her work. Now based in Zambia, she balances strategic consulting with chasing after her toddler, always looking for ways to turn insights into action and build partnerships that translate innovation into real-world impact.
