Global Health Visions is pleased to announce that Ann Starrs, an extraordinary leader in sexual and reproductive health and rights, has joined GHV as a senior consultant to work with our Women’s Health team.
Ann brings strong leadership and management skills, including strategic thinking and communications, establishing collaborative partnerships, effective advocacy and public speaking, problem- solving, resource mobilization, and building and maintaining strong and diverse leadership teams. She has in-depth technical knowledge of sexual and reproductive health and rights issues (SRHR) globally and in the U.S., along with acute political instincts for negotiating challenging situations.
Citing her long history with GHV, Ann said, “I have worked with Global Health Visions as a client for years and have always been impressed with the organization’s technical and programmatic expertise, its professionalism, and deep commitment to women’s health, equity, and justice. I am so excited to join this remarkable organization and contribute to its work and impact.”
Before joining GHV, Ann served as the Director of Family Planning at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and CEO of the Guttmacher Institute, where she co-chaired the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission for SRHR. Ann also served as CEO of Family Care International, an NGO working to improve reproductive, maternal and newborn health.
